What we collect ourselves
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location, and you do not need an account to play.
Online rankings: the first time you go online, the game creates an anonymous player on our server (hosted on Supabase) with a random identifier and an automatically generated name such as “Puffy Engine 42”. When you solve a level or a daily puzzle, the game sends the puzzle, your solve time and the number of hints you used. We keep your best time per puzzle to show your rank (for example “Top 12%”) and today's fastest times, where other players can see your generated name and time.
Your game progress (levels, stars, streaks, settings) is saved on your device.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows optional reward videos (when you ask for more hints) and, between levels, occasional full-screen ads. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, app set ID, IP address (used to estimate your approximate location), device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostic data to serve, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud.
In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and in US states with privacy laws, the game asks for your consent or offers you a choice through Google's consent message before personalised ads are used; you can change it later under Settings → Privacy options. Our ad requests are marked for a teen-and-up audience (content rating T). You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your device's Google settings. Google's policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Purchases
The optional “Remove ads” purchase is processed by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The game receives a purchase confirmation (product, order identifier) to deliver it and to restore it after a reinstall.
Reminders
If you allow notifications, the game schedules a daily-puzzle reminder on your device. It is created and shown locally; nothing is sent to us. You can turn it off in your phone's notification settings.
Tingjar
If you open Puffline from our Tingjar app to take part in a level job, the game sends Tingjar the one-time link token it was given and the number of puzzles you have solved, so Tingjar can credit you. Nothing is sent to Tingjar unless you start Puffline from Tingjar.
How long data is kept
Progress on your device is kept until you uninstall the game or clear its data. Your anonymous player and solve times are kept while the rankings exist, or until you ask us to delete them. Advertising data is kept by Google according to its policies.
Your choices and rights
Change ad consent: Settings → Privacy options in the game (shown where it applies), or opt out of personalised ads in your device's Google settings.
Delete your data: email us (below) with your player name (shown on the rankings screen) and we will delete your anonymous player and all of its solve times.
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your data. Contact us to exercise them. We do not sell your personal information. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Children
Puffline is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game, contact us and we will delete any data we hold.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, mention it in the game's update notes.
